ProgStock’s Luxurious Venue

ProgStock’s daily performances will take place October 11-13, 2019 at the Union County Performing Arts Center (or UCPAC) theater located at 1601 Irving Street, Rahway, New Jersey 07065. After each performance, meet & greet sessions with the performers will take place either immediately outside the theater building or at other locations (which we will announce from the stage) in downtown Rahway a short walk away from the theater building. Other establishments within downtown Rahway will host our Late Night Events, again within walking distance of the theater. We’ve tried to make it easy to enjoy what our festival has to offer you…but, if the spirit moves you, there is the rest of the exciting city of Rahway for you to explore!

The historic Union County Performing Arts Center landmark was originally a vaudeville-era silent movie house. First opened in 1928, this is a beautifully restored multipurpose facility that is the centerpiece of the recently established arts district of Rahway, New Jersey. UCPAC is playing a vital role in the cultural renaissance of the community. UCPAC is run by a non-profit organization staffed by professional, hard-working employees and is supported by an outstanding volunteer corps and its local community of residents.

ProgStock’s “Host” Hotel (and more!)

After diligently evaluating many excellent hotels in and around Rahway, we’ve once again chosen as our “host” hotel the familiar surroundings of the Home2 Suites by Hilton located at 667 East Milton Avenue, Rahway, New Jersey 07065.

This hotel is where most of the artists, staff, and special guests of ProgStock will stay throughout the weekend. It is an extremely short and easy drive from the theater, and provides free standard wi-fi, free parking, and free breakfast for everyone. We’ve negotiated a special nightly rate for ProgStock attendees of $136/night, which applies to all three nights of the festival. The hotel manager strongly recommends that you book your room by calling the Home2 Suites by Hilton at (732) 388-5500 and asking for a room in the ProgStock Public group…but, make sure you are speaking with the front desk and not Hilton’s central reservations people! You may have trouble booking online…but if you succeed, call the hotel to make sure you get our special ProgStock nightly rate.

Of course, you can choose from any of the numerous great hotels in and around Rahway…whatever suits you best! But, one good choice right next-door to the Home2 Suites by Hilton is the Best Western Riverview Inn & Suites located at 1747 Paterson Street, Rahway, New Jersey 07065.

This hotel is also an extremely short and easy drive from the UCPAC theater, and also provides free standard wi-fi, free parking, and free breakfast for everyone. We have worked out an incredible nightly ProgStock rate of $95/night for this hotel, which applies to all three nights of the festival. Another attractive choice right in downtown Rahway, across the street from the NJ Transit train station, and a very short walk from the UCPAC theater is the Watt Hotel located at 1403 Irving Street, Rahway, NJ 07065.

This hotel provides free standard wi-fi and free breakfast for everyone. We have negotiated a ProgStock nightly rate of $122/night for this hotel, which applies to all three nights of the festival. Please be aware that you must call or email this hotel to book a room in our block…because online they may appear to be sold-out!

Another option in the neighboring town of Linden, a short drive from the UCPAC theater is the Hampton Inn Linden located at 501 West Edgar Road, Linden, NJ, 07036.

This hotel provides free standard wi-fi, free parking, and free breakfast for everyone. We have negotiated a ProgStock nightly rate of $133/night for this hotel, which applies to all three nights of the festival. You must book your room by calling Cathy Montella at the Hampton Inn Linden at (908) 374-7604 and asking her for a room in the ProgStock Public group (and if you get her voicemail, leave her a message and she promises to call you back promptly). This deal has expired, but you can still book rooms at this hotel through Hampton Inn or other travel services/sites.

Yet another great choice in the neighboring town of Clark, a short drive from the UCPAC theater is the Holiday Inn Clark located at 36 Valley Road, Clark, NJ 07066.

This hotel provides free standard wi-fi, free parking, and free breakfast for everyone. They have an excellent restaurant within the hotel…and, they have graciously agreed to provide free shuttle services to/from the hotel and downtown Rahway! We have negotiated a ProgStock nightly rate of $129/night for this hotel, which applies to all three nights of the festival. Also, this hotel has agreed to provide shuttle buses to help our attendees get to and from downtown Rahway throughout the entire festival weekend! Need more hotel options? OK, then! Two additional “sister hotels” sit side-by-side in the neighboring town of Avenel, just a short drive away from the Home2 Suites and Best Western on Route 1/9 South. The Comfort Suites at Woodbridge and the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Woodbridge are located at 1275 & 1295 Route 1 South, Avenel, NJ 07001.

Getting To and From the Venue/Hotels

If you have your own vehicle while attending ProgStock, you can drive into Rahway each day and park for free at the Hamilton Stage building, which is part of the Union County Performing Arts Center located at 360 Hamilton Street, Rahway, NJ 07065 (just a short walk from the main theater).

We are also working on other parking accommodations for you…but, for those folks who won’t have their own vehicle with them at the festival (or don’t wish to drive back and forth), there are many options for getting between the venue and hotels. First, you can always carpool with friends (you will see plenty of familiar ones, and make plenty of new ones, at this festival!). Hands down, that’s most likely going to cover all the needs you have in this department. Some hotels (see above) may provide shuttle services you can use to get to/from downtown Rahway. There’s taxicabs, of course, which will be quite aware of the festival and easy to grab (our staff will help you, if needed). But also keep in mind that Uber and Lyft are available, too…it’s a commuter town, after all! Cost estimates between the UCPAC and most area hotels are around $6 (car) and $10 (SUV)…and, at any time of day or night (which is an important thing to consider!). Share any of those rides with friends, and you’ll do just fine!
